U.Porto regains title of national university rowing champion
The University of Porto Rowing team was the great dominator of the National University Rowing Championship (CNU) 2025, when conquering seven medals – including two gold ones – and the collective title in the competition that took place on May 31st, at the Montemor-o-Velho High Performance Center.
The big highlight goes to both of them national university titles obtained by Duarte Castro (FADEUP), in the test of Skiff, and by the duo formed by Maria Rita Rodrigues (FEP) and Rita Faria (FCUP) in the test of Double scull female.
U.Porto also won four silver medals. The new university runners-up are: David Silva (FEUP) and Carolina Lima (FEUP), in the tests of Skiff male and female, respectively; Paulo Fidalgo (FEUP) and Jose Canha (FEUP), in Double Scull; and the quartet formed by Duarte Castro (FADEUP), Paulo Fidalgo (FEUP), Zac Knowles (FLUP) and Jose Canha (FEUP), in Shell 4.
In the U.Porto medallist, the bronze medal won by Carolina Lima (FEUP) and Barbara Boat (FEUP) in the women's Double Scull event.
With this victory, the team led by Ricardo Cardoso thus recovers the title obtained in 2023, also ensuring qualification for the next CEuropean University Rowing Championship, which will take place in Bydgoszcz, Poland, from September 18 to 21.
