U.Porto opens Modern Dance course
“Mondays in Movements” is the name of this new Modern Dance course that starts on February 24th with the U.Porto Sports Center.
As the name suggests, it will be on Mondays that CDUP-Boa Hora will receive the new Modern Dance course at U.Porto, which will take place from 20:00 pm to 21:30 pm in the fitness room.
The invitation is extended to the entire community, over 14 years old, whether they know how to dance or not, but who want to learn or improve their dance technique.
Over the 8 days of the course, participants will be able to experience Jazz, Floorwork, Contact and Improvisation, Fusion of Styles, Choreography/Performance.
The classes will be led by Professor Leonor Malafaya Almeida, a professional dancer who was recently part of the “Tarzan The Musical” Ensemble. “Modern dance is freedom, expression and energy! On our course at the University of Porto, anyone can explore movement and discover new ways of expressing themselves. I invite everyone to come and dance with us and feel the power of dance!” says Leonor, who, in addition to her teaching and dancing background, has a Higher Education in Theatre Dance certificate, specializing in Contemporary from the London Studio Centre.
The days allocated for the course are February 24, March 3,10,17,24,31, 7, 28, XNUMX, XNUMX, April XNUMX and XNUMX.
As inscriptions, which tend to sell out, end on February 20th and are limited to 20 participants.
For the U.Porto community (students, teaching and non-teaching staff, Alumni), the cost of the course is €45, and for external members it is €55 (non-UPFit members pay the UPFit registration fee).
