More than 270 student athletes from U.Porto in the Final Stages of the National University Championships
As Final Stages of the National University Championships (CNU's) are about to begin and will take place in Coimbra, between the days April 7 and 18. The University of Porto (U.Porto) will be one of the main protagonists of the event, with the participation of more than 270 student-athletes, distributed by 15 teams in nine sports.
The team of U.Porto women's handball is one of the first to enter action in these final stages, with the game scheduled for April 7th.
At the level of academic associations, the Student Association of the Faculty of Engineering of the U.Porto (AEFEUP) stands out as the most represented, with six teams competing in the sports of Women's volleyball, Men's volleyball, Men's handball, Women's basketball, Men's basketball and Men's futsal.
Follows the Student Association of the Faculty of Sports of the University of Porto (AEFADEUP), which enters the test with four teams: Men's basketball, women's basketball, women's futsal and men's 11-a-side football.
A Students' Association of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (AEFMUP) guaranteed presence in the Final Stages with its teams Women's volleyball and men's volleyball.
Already Student Association of the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (AEICBAS) will also be represented in the women's volleyball, joining the AEFEUP and AEFMUP teams.
Finally, the Porto Faculty of Economics Student Association (AEFEP) will be present at the competition with his team of Football 11 men.
Competition calendar
In this, the largest university multi-sport competition at a national level, the action will be divided into two weeks:
- First week (April 7-11): Women's handball, Women's volleyball, Men's basketball and Men's futsal.
- Second week (April 14th to 18th): Men's handball, women's basketball, men's 11-a-side football, women's futsal and men's volleyball.
The organization of the Final Phases of the CNU is the responsibility of the Academic Federation of University Sports (FADU), in partnership with the Academic Association of Coimbra, and has the support of the University of Coimbra and the City Council of Coimbra.
