Over 130 students, faculty and staff gathered at the 4x4 Volleyball Tournament
On December 11th, the University Stadium was, once again, the venue for the 4×4 Volleyball Tournament. This special Christmas edition brought together around 130 students, alumni, teachers and staff from the University of Porto, in a friendly competition.
In total, they were 24 teams in play, all of them mixed and composed of four to six elements. To the fourteen faculties of the University of Porto were represented by 130 national international students, alumni, teachers and staff.
The big highlight goes to the team “Papa Mugs” which, after five hours of disputes, ascended to the first place on the podium. The team included the professor from the Faculty of Sciences of the U.Porto (FCUP), Manuela Azenha, and students from three different faculties: Daniela Rodrigues and Rúben Feiteira, from FCUP, Diogo Azenha and Inês Pato, from the Faculty of Medicine of the U.Porto (FMUP) and Miguel Azenha, from the Faculty of Economics of the U.Porto (FEP).
Em second place, the team followed "Sciences", which had already won the previous edition of the 4×4 Volleyball Tournament, in February. FCUP professor Paulo Almeida and students from the same faculty, Henrique Ferreira, Maria Silva and alumni Miguel Silva won the silver medal.
They conquered the bronze medal the students of Faculty of Nutritional Sciences of the U.Porto (FCNAUP): Pedro Oliveira, Álvaro Madrid, Afonso Souza, Gabriel Garcia, Laura Coelho, Letícia Guimarães, from the team “Dojo Mojo Team”.
Professors Paulo Almeida and Manuel Azenha, belonging to the “Sciences” and “Papa Canecos” teams, respectively, dedicated the results achieved in this competition to their professional colleague, from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, Luís Torgo, who left prematurely this year. year.
