CDUP-UP exchanges solidarity goods for free physical activity
November 19th to 27th, who donates one or more essential goods to the CASA – Support Center for the Homeless in Porto will have the right to use, free of charge, the various gyms managed by Sport Center of the University of Porto (CDUP-UP). That's the motto of 11th edition of the UPFit Solidarity Week, an initiative that brings together the U.Porto and HOUSE Porto, in order to support the most vulnerable populations in the city of Porto and surrounding areas.
To participate in this solidarity action, it is necessary to start by gathering one of the items used in the meals and food baskets that CASA Porto distributes, daily, to dozens of families at risk.
The list includes from men's underwear, blankets, sleeping bags, perishable food items and hygiene products. For pets, it is necessary dry food and internal and external dewormer for dogs and cats.
Anyone who shows up with one – or more – of these goods at CDUP-UP activities will be able to enjoy a free programming, specially designed for this purpose.
It all starts to 19 November, day when all Group Classes will be free for solidarity users. The same happens on the day 20 November, but this time with the UPFit Water Activities , taking place in the swimming pool of the Faculty of Sports (FADEUP).
A 21 NovemberThe U.Porto weight rooms will be open to campaign participants. The 26 November, CDUP-up invites you to take advantage of special classes Badminton and UPRunning. In the middle, the 25 November, there will be a Active Solidarity Pause, with exclusive collection at the Rectory of the U.Porto.
The initiative ends with a Mega Charity Pilates Class on 27 November, 18:15 pm - 20:00 pm na Faculty of Sports. This event has limited capacity and must be filled application form to participate in the Mega Class. At this final moment, representatives of the CASA-Porto to receive all the collected goods.
The 9th edition of UPFIT Solidário is a joint initiative between CDUP-UP and the BAMBUP Mental Health Promotion Program of the University of Porto.
